The developers of Modnation Racers (United Front Games) and the creators of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts (Square Enix) bring you, Sleeping Dogs.
Sleeping Dogs takes you to the gritty streets of Hong Kong as Wei Shen, a undercover cop whose mission is to infiltrate the Sun On Yee triad organization.
So I began the game first by euphorically falling for the free running aspect of the gameplay, which by far kept me on my toes (so to speak) then after the cutscene I started doing some quickie missions to get familiar with the entire game itself. I have to say I was impressed with the hand to hand combat because it WILL unleash your inner GOD OF WAR with counters, special moves and combos. You have a lot of enviromental attacks to choose from that I don't even think I found all of them.
The driving was pretty cool other than driving on the other side of the street and the stunt jumps I was able to keep myself a bit entertained.
BUT the gunfights were another story. You can do human shields, slide over bars in slo-mo as well as jumping but unfortunately... (Spoiler!) I didn't get the guns until almost the last section of the game and the only way to get a gun before then was to disarm a police officer or check a trunk of a police car. The only way to do that was to gain the abilities which can only be gained by playing FURTHER into the game. Don't think once you got the gun its yours to keep because once you run out of ammo or enter/exit a mission that gun you cherished oh so deeply for will be gone in a snap!
Overall, I think the game is unique in terms of action, the customization is pretty awesome, the DLC is to die for, and the replayability is there, but I won't be hooked on it.
Overall: 4/5
Replayability: 3/5
Story: 4/5
Gameplay 4.5/5
