Ahhh! Hitman:Absolution, the latest sequel to the Hitman franchise, has been in development for a long time and with good reason. The entire gameplay got overhauled with new mechanics with the new engine, Glacier 2. I was a little skeptical at first about it since I was so used to the older games, but it really showed that it didn't give a damn about Blood Money or Contracts and I applaud them for that. I completely forgot about them once I started playing Absolution. (I don't want to mention spoilers because you really need to play it)
The combat now emphasizes Agent 47's hand-to-hand skills (he knows martial arts, who knew?!), his firearm skills such as his insane accuracy and shooting speed, his ability to blend in with crowds, and his killing ingenuity.
They even added a Instinct mode, which is pretty much 47's version of Batman's Detective mode (Batman Arkham Asylum or City) or Altair/Ezio/Connor/Desmond's Eagle Vision (Assassin's Creed I to III). It pretty much puts all of his training into use in this mode because this is when he finds his target(s) and plans out his kill or escape route.
Online is really sick! I have to say this was my favorite part of the whole game besides the storyline. They have what's called Contract mode. This is what's really exciting! You can make your own assassination contract using any target you want, any disguise you want, any weapon you want, and then you put it on the Hitman server then just watch the other players try to complete your contract.
This game really stands out from the rest and it is really worth the time and effort. Hitman:Absolutin doesn't have you play as Agent 47, you ARE 47.
